Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for women established the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance. In cooperation with the Department of Continuing Education, and the Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) Institute of Qur’anic Sciences of the Imam Hussainiya Shrine, Religious Affairs Division the grand competition regarding The Holy Quran was held in Umm Abiha (peace be upon her); university’s auditorium.
Mrs. Sorour Al-Khafaji, Director of the Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) Institute for Quranic Sciences stated:
“The memorization was for the thirtieth part, and 19 students participated in it from various departments in the university, and the results were good, and we consider it a great step as a first step, as three students won the first ranks, the first student Tabarak Adnan, student Zahraa Moayed, and student Fatima Adnan.”
Al-Khafaji added: “This competition aims to have a link between the sciences of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and the memorization of the Holy Qur’an and other sciences, and that cooperation continues between the university, as they were distinguished and honored in the name of sayyeda Zahra (peace be upon her), and there was a committee of arbitrators. The jury consisted of the institute’s female professors, all of whom are memorizers of the Noble Qur’an, including the Tajweed Court, the Endowment and Initiation Court, the Voice and Memorization Court, the Quality of Memorization Court, and many activities.”
The latter indicated: “This competition is considered the first in memorization, and we hope that it will be in all parts so that it is possible for the student to graduate while memorizing a set of parts of the Holy Qur’an the main objective behind these activities is to establish harmony between the Quranic and Scientific education in order to train students that are not only well versed with the scientific knowledge but also has immense understanding of the divine Quranic texts and eventually contribute to the development of the social, religious , moral and spiritual aspects of the society.
